Ryan Reynolds wrote the Deadpool Christmas movie that was never made

Ryan Reynolds currently stars with Will Ferrell in the new Christmas-themed musical comedy Spirited for Apple TV+.

talk to big problemReynolds, who isn’t exactly known for singing and dancing in past projects, shared the advice musical theater veteran Hugh Jackman gave him.

“I was having coffee with Hugh one day, and he reminded me that it’s very important to almost everything you do in art. He said, ‘Don’t forget to have fun. Because if you enjoy it, we can enjoy it too.”

“It was something I always remembered,” he added. “Almost every day, even when I felt stuck in my depths, I kept reminding myself that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It extended to other aspects of my life, so it was pretty good advice.”

Reynolds seems to have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and hopes to add a touch of film score brilliance to the “Deadpool” franchise as well.

“I’d love to see a song and dance number in the ‘Deadpool’ movie,” he said before revealing something of a bombshell.

“Four years ago [‘Deadpool’ co-writers] Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and I wrote a Christmas movie starring Deadpool,” Reynolds revealed. “But it got lost in the turmoil of Disney buying Fox and was never made.”

But Reynolds hopes certain projects will see the light of day.

“Maybe one day we’ll make that movie,” he added. “It’s not a musical, but it’s a full Deadpool Christmas movie.
