Hepburn Hawks Win Regional 2A Men’s Volleyball Championship

The Hepburn Hawks defeated the Wilkie Bronx, 25-21, 25-13, in the gold medal game of the SHSAA 2A Boys’ Volleyball Championship on Saturday.

The Hepburn Hawks won the Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association 2A Men’s Volleyball Championship Saturday at Harvest City Christian Academy.

Hepburn beat the Wilkie Bronx 25-21, 25-13 in the gold medal match.

In the bronze medal match, the Laval Lions defeated the Harvest City Reapers 25-22, 25-21. Harvest City and Ecole Monseigneur de Laval were co-organizers of the tournament.

Bellevue (1A Men), Assiniboia (3A Men) and Meadow Lake (4A Men) also won the State Championships on Saturday.

Pat Canadians Prevail

The Regina Pat Canadiens extended their record to 15-4-0-1 on Sunday with a 4-1 Saskatchewan Men’s AAA Hockey League victory over the hosts Prince Albert Mintos.

Kolten Bridgeman scored the winning goal to make it 1–1 with 7 seconds left in the second period.

Bridgeman and teammate Noel Engro each had one goal and one assist. Nolan Stevenson and Ryan McDonald also scored for Regina.

The Pat Canadiens avenged Saturday’s 6-5 loss at Prince Albert.

Ashton Tait led Mintos with two goals. Regina’s offensive his leaders were Casey Brown (2 goals), Cohensenft (2 goals) and Ryan Zalemba (3 assists).

The Pat Canadiens are scheduled to take on the Esteban Bears (8pm, Southsey Arena) on Friday.

Regina Putts prospect Kelton Pine was 27 for a shutout as the Melville Millionaires beat the Kindersley Clippers 4-0 in Saturday’s Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League game at the Horizon Credit Union Center. I recorded a save.
