To Mekishana Pierre‍, ETOnline.com.

Rihanna is doing great! At midnight Friday, the singer released her second contribution to the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack, a soul-stirring ballad titled “Born Again.”

“I give this place my heart/I give all my soul and whatever it takes, never run away,” Rihanna sings in an emotional ballad. And I remember this just to see your face again/I know you’ll be born again and do the same.”

The single was written by singer/producer The-Dream, who wrote RiRi’s 2007 blockbuster hits “Umbrella,” “Birthday Cake,” and “Phresh Out the Runway,” among others.

“Born Again” was released two weeks after Rihanna released the soundtrack’s lead single and first single in six years, “Lift Me Up,” along with a music video.

The single, written by Thames, Oscar-winner Ludwig Goransson, Rihanna and director Ryan Coogler, has global impact. It’s a beautiful tribute to Chadwick Boseman, who played King T’Challa, the Black Panther, who died at the age of 43 after a four-year battle with colon cancer.

At the October 26 premiere of “Wakanda Forever,” Coogler told ET that Goransson not only recorded the track in five different countries, but also used his own travels to bring a global feel to the song. shared that

“It has elements of his Senegalese days from a few years ago. Of course I recorded here in the US, I recorded in the UK, I recorded in Mexico too. We took it down and started working in earnest a few months ago,” Coogler says.

“After talking to Ryan and hearing his film and song direction, I knew I wanted to write something that portrayed the warm hugs from all the people I’ve lost in my life. I imagined how it would feel if I could express how much I miss you,” Thames said in a statement. I am very honored to be able to do that.”

“I say this, I didn’t get [Rihanna] whatever you do. I don’t think anyone can force her to do anything. She’s someone who marches to the beat of her own drum. I am forever grateful to all the other amazing musicians who have contributed to the soundtrack as well.”
