Gerald Nicolas, 51, is said to have been part of a terrorist plot to overthrow former Haitian president Jovenel Moïse.
“He is alleged to have taken concrete actions, including traveling to Haiti to coordinate a group of individuals intended to participate in a coup against established authorities,” the RCMP said in a statement Thursday. said.
Moyes, 53, was assassinated in his home in July 2021 by an armed group of foreign mercenaries, mostly from Colombia.
The alleged conspiracy that led to Thursday’s indictment is said to have nothing to do with the 2021 assassination.
