State police say the homeowner remains missing after a house fire last week in rural Carlow Mayo Township just east of Bancroft.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on November 4, a fire on Whites Road, northeast of Bancroft, Ontario, called for emergency services.

The house was engulfed in flames when the responders arrived.
Residents were not at the scene and remain missing, an OPP spokesman said Tuesday.
No family members were identified. It is not believed that he had children.

OPP’s Crime and Forensic Identification Unit, along with the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office, are investigating the fire.
