Christina Shoren started crying at the sight of her partner in the courtroom gallery, where Judge Charlene Anderson ruled that she was more than a passive party to the torture of her victims.

Anderson has pleaded guilty to multiple counts in connection with the April 15, 2019 attack on his Bridgeland home by Shoren, Carol Nordvall, and Richard Wayne Parsons.
However, shortly after being escorted from the street by Shoren into the residence, the victim, whose identity is protected by a publication ban, jumped down.
Anderson determined that Shoren was a party to the aggravated attack that occurred because he was aware of the planned attack.
The victim was beaten with fists by three men, including Parsons, who he believed was a fish bonker, tied up and dragged into a basement.

A beating ensued there, where he suffered cigarette burns and was repeatedly beaten with a socket wrench by Parsons and kicked in the face.
At one point Nordval cut the back of his victim’s jeans and then sexually assaulted him both anally and orally with a sex toy.
Anderson convicted Nordval and Parsons on multiple charges.
Last week, prosecutor Todd Bouziak suspended the sexual assault charges against Shoren after the victim testified that he did not participate in the basement attack.

Defense attorneys for Adriano Iovinelli, Kelsey Sitar and Shelley Moore argued that the victim’s testimony was unreliable and that Anderson should have reasonable doubt about what happened at the Thomson Avenue home. .

However, a Royal Court judge agreed with Bouziak that there was sufficient evidence to convict all three.
“The physical evidence is consistent with the (victim’s) evidence,” Anderson said.
“I agree with the royal family that there is substantial corroborating evidence to support (his) evidence.”
Among these pieces of evidence were the victim’s ripped jeans, which police later found at his home, and a cell phone video showing some of the sexual abuse.
Electronic bank transfers totaling $12,000 from the victim to Nordvall’s account also corroborated his testimony.
“Looking at the violence in the video, there is no question why (the victim) provided a passcode (for his account),” she said.
All three criminals remain free until sentencing hearings are held.
The case will be returned to court on Friday for scheduling.
