Sir Rod Stewart has revealed he turned down more than $1 million to perform in Qatar amid controversy over the 2022 World Cup.
Stewart said gay fans traveling to the World Cup Sunday Times, daily mirror report. Homosexuality is illegal in that country.

Some stars, including Robbie Williams, have been criticized for front-loading their performances at sporting events, while others, like Dua Lipa, insist they won’t attend.
“There is speculation that she will perform at the opening ceremony of the World Cup in Qatar. I will not be performing and I have never been involved in negotiations to perform,” she wrote on Instagram over the weekend. Posted in Story.
