Miovision Acquires Rapid Flow, The Canadian Business Journal

KITCHENER, ON, Oct. 11, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Miovision, an innovative company that uses artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to help modernize cities’ approach to traffic management, today announced announced the acquisition of Pittsburgh-based Rapid Flow Technologies.

Rapid Flow is the technology leader in the market for adaptive traffic signal control that uses real-time traffic data to optimize signal timing and adapt to real-world conditions. The company’s Surtrac adaptive traffic signal control system supports all traffic signal controller types to optimize traffic signal timing down to the second, taking into account all modes of travel to ensure that vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, and keep transportation moving and safe.

Surtrac Adaptive has been installed at 350 intersections, including installations integrated with Miovision TrafficLink in Peterborough, Ontario and Quincy, Massachusetts. Rapid Flow’s team, including Surtrac co-founder and co-inventor Greg Barlow, will join Miovision, and their Pittsburgh location will be his fifth office in the Miovision world.
