How to stop texts from going to your old phone

These days, mobile phones handle two kinds of messages. There’s SMS (the dreaded “green bubble” on the iPhone) that relies on standard cellular networks to send basic messages. But there are Internet-based messages, sent as iMessage on iPhone and RCS on Android. Unlike in the past, these services aren’t necessarily tied to your SIM, but to the account you’re signed into on your device. If you still have a phone number registered on your old phone, it can lead to message interference.

How to prevent messages from being sent to your old iPhone or Android

If you have an old phone handy, it’s an easy fix. If your old phone is an iPhone, To Settings> Messages> Send/ReceiveTap your Apple ID at the bottom and tap[サインアウト]Choose.You can do the same from Settings> FaceTime, likewise.It doesn’t matter if it’s not an old phone: your Apple ID password Settings> [Your Name]> passwords and securitySetting a new password will remove your existing phone number from all connected Apple devices.
