Panthers’ Matthew Tkachuk has high-sticking hearing

Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk will face disciplinary action against Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick on Sunday.
Tkachuk poked Quick in the eye in the final seconds of the Kings’ 5-4 home victory on Saturday. He served a two-minute penalty for interference and ten minutes for misbehavior of the game.

“I hope the league looks into it, but this is a dirty play,” Kings defenseman Matt Roy said after the game.

This wasn’t the first time Tkachuk and Quick clashed. With 2:11 remaining in the second period, Tkachuk’s goal was disallowed after contact with Quick’s head.
Tkachuk, 24, leads the Panthers with 17 points (5 goals, 12 assists) and 30 penalty minutes in 12 games in his first season in Florida.
