A fire chief investigates an explosion that injured two and damaged a home in a NWT town.
Hay River, Northwest Territories – Two people were injured and several homes were damaged in an explosion in the Northwest Territories.
The town of Hay River said an explosion occurred at a home in the Beaver Crescent area on Saturday morning.
Homes in the area were evacuated as emergency responders provided medical and fire support services.
Two residents are being treated for non-serious injuries.
Neighboring homes with broken windows and other damage are currently being repaired.
The fire department is investigating and the cause of the explosion has not been determined.
Propane gas and electrical service to the home where the explosion occurred was cut.
