Armstrong Sulamchin Chamber of Commerce Board Selects Shepherd to Lead Herd

The new Chamber Board of Directors was sworn in at the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, November 16th. BDO’s Shepard was elected president. Madison Reynolds of Asparagus Community Theater is First Vice-President and Marc Szarek of Bloom Flower Festivals is Second Vice-President.

“The Chamber of Commerce has been part of the community for 91 years,” Shepard said. “We look forward to working with our members and local government partners to make Armstrong Suparamchin a better place to do business.”

Directors elected for two-year terms are:

• Crystal Workman, VantageOne.

• Mark Trussell, Royal Canadian Antique Post.

• Kim McGarvey of Hamlets.

Directors returning with one year remaining in office include:

• Patti Wood, 4 Site Ventures.

• Deborah Fox, Evolving Leadership Development.

• Maral Ervin, Kohler.

• Goret Fontoura, Hub International.

• Trish Van Tienhoven, Primerica.

• Amanda Iridge, Valley First Credit Union.

• Sheryl Hood, Alan Brooks Nature Center.

The incoming board was sworn in by Mayor Armstrong Joe Kramer and Suparamchin City Councilman Joe Van Tienhoven.

The ceremony was followed by several presentations by new former President Sean Newton.

“It is my great pleasure to send my token of appreciation to Linda Fisher, Citizen of the Year 2022/2023,” said Newton. “Linda is very close to our community and she has actively participated in several nonprofits that are members of our Chamber of Commerce.”

Following the presentation to Fisher, Newton presented Mackenzie Jokos with a check for $2,500 for the Milky Way 4H Dairy Club.

“The club suffered heavy losses resulting from the August incident,” said Newton. “It was a privilege for our Chamber of Commerce and business community to participate in a fundraiser to support this organization. members are the future of agriculture.”
