Edmonton Oilers beat Rangers for 3rd place – Edmonton

The Edmonton Oilers beat the New York Rangers 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at Madison Square Garden with four goals in the third period.

The Rangers jumped 2:20 into the game when Alexis Lafrenière was deflected on a goalmouth pass from Adam Fox. They thought they made it 2–0 in the first half with a powerplay goal by Artemi Panarin, but the play was denied after the Oilers successfully challenged for offside.

With 5:28 remaining in the second, Bradenschneider beat Jack Campbell with a shot from the right shot. The Oilers challenged goaltender interference as Ryan Carpenter nudged Campbell when the puck came in. After a lengthy review, the goal was removed from the board.
