Letter: Sask.Liquor store closing strategy is a bad deal for taxpayers

If the Saskatchewan Party wanted to sell the shop and get a reasonable price they definitely wouldn’t. continue.

What is being done is poison. Anyone interested in an Avalon store (including current employees) will incur significant initial costs and a customer base that has migrated to other outlets.

What can be inferred from the closure is that the Saskatchewan Party does not want the existing store to survive. People in Saskatchewan will end up earning far less than they would have if they had followed a careful process.

On November 12th, I wrote to SLGA Minister Lori Carr asking about the process of closing liquor stores. November 15th and she received confirmation of the message on the 21st, no response. my question is simple.

Can the Minister explain the process by which the stores are sold? If we follow the process above, how can we achieve the best price for Sask’s retail business? Liquor?
