LETTERS: Enough with the loud, smelly leaf-blowers

Editor:

What is it about falling leaves in this community?

There’s a kind of poetry watching leaves fall. Leaves on the ground are the delight of children of all ages.

But around here, if four or 14 leaves happen to fall, crews with loud, smelly, gasoline-powered leaf-blowers on their backs rush to the scene to blow them away — only to have five more leaves fall overnight. Repeat routine.

Can we have a bit of sanity here, folks?

How about waiting until they all fall from the trees, get jumped in, admired and photographed. Then someone can pick them up in huge bunches. Or leave them on the ground as nature would prefer.

It would also be very fine if Surrey and White Rock banned those gas-guzzling blowers, as Vancouver is set to do by 2024.
