Snow in BC South Coast Sunday night and more snow during the week – BC

According to Global BC’s senior meteorologist, it will feel like winter across BC’s south coast this week as arctic air masses move over the state and there is some potential for snow on the low-lying coasts.

“The first chance for snow is Sunday night,” said Christy Gordon.

“South Vancouver Island will see the highest chances of snow on Sunday night and early Monday morning. It can be as low as 0-5cm. Snow will subside in the morning.”

Environment Canada predicts less snow in the Lower Mainland on Sunday evening and early Monday morning.

“Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning will most likely see snow spread across the South Coast,” Gordon said.

“Tuesday commute and Wednesday morning commute could be impacted. Snow is expected to turn to rain during the day on Wednesday.”

Snow could turn to snow again Wednesday night through Thursday morning, but winds and patches of snow are expected to ease by this time, Environment Canada said.

Widespread snowfall possible late Friday through Saturday.
