Lionel Richie Receives Icon Award During Traveling AMA Tribute

Lionel Richie are celebrating all night long.

The legendary singer received the esteemed Icon Award at the 2022 American Music Awards on November 20th.In addition to receiving her honor, the 73-year-old was recognized for a moving tribute to her performance Stevie Wonder, Charlie Puth When Ali Lennox.

While on stage, Stevie and Charlie each sing several hits, including “Say You, Say Me.” “All Night Long” and “Easy”. Ali was among many other stars who joined the stage to sing “We Are the World.” Melissa Etheridge, Jimmy Allen, Smokey Robinson, Munilong, Dustin Lynch When Yola.

With more than 50 years of illustrious careers in the music industry, Lionel reflected on his journey as he took the stage to accept the trophy. “I started here at the AMA,” he said. “And my career is back in the AMAs to this day, 40 years later.”
