Roberta Flack was diagnosed with ALS, so she couldn’t keep singing

Roberta Flack is battling ALS.

On Monday, the 85-year-old singer’s representatives announced that Flack would no longer perform her classic hits, adding that the Grammy winner has difficulty even speaking due to a neurological condition.

It’s unclear how long Flack has been suffering from ALS, known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS has proven fatal and there is no known cure.
