Lily-Rose Depp Shares Why She Decided To Avoid Recent Headlines About Father Johnny Depp, Talks About Growing Up With Famous Parents

Lily-Rose Depp opens up about growing up with famous parents in new interview ells December 2022 and January 2023 issues.

Being the daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, Lily-Rose has dealt with some shortcomings of fame her entire life.

A grown 23-year-old says, “My parents protected my brother.” [Jack] And I stay away from it as much as possible.

“My childhood didn’t look like everyone’s childhood. It’s a very particular thing to deal with, but it’s also the only thing I know.”

She says facing fame as an adult was “a strange thing to navigate” but admits: I guess that’s what I had to work my way up. ”

Johnny Depp has made more headlines this year than ever after winning a defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard in June.

Lily-Rose opens up about why she avoided commenting on recent headlines about her father.

“Also, I don’t think I’m here to answer for anyone. For much of my career, people really wanted to define me by the men in my life. Whether it’s my family or my boyfriend…and I’m really ready to be defined for what I put out there.

She said she was an “open book” with her friends, adding, “But I was just raised to tell me that privacy is important to protect.”

Lily-Rose describes how she began her acting career with the thought, “I’m here to do my work. What I really want to put out there is my work.” I’m explaining.
