Nickelback to be inducted into Canadian Music Hall of Fame

Nickelback has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Rock hitmaker from Hanna, Alta. He was named as the newest inductee to the illustrious home of Canada’s top musical talent.

Lead singer Chad Kroeger and his bandmates Mike Kroeger, Ryan Peake and Daniel Adair will be inducted into the Hall of Fame next March 13 at the Juno Awards in Edmonton.

The 12-time Juno winner with hit singles like “How You Remind Me” and “Rockstar” will also perform live on Junos.

The band’s inaugural announcement was part of a media event in Edmonton on Monday, at which organizers said Calgary native Tate McRae would be one of this year’s performers.

They also confirmed the return of several Juno Week events that were suspended during the pandemic.

The Juno Cup, Canada’s celebrity hockey showdown, the Juno Songwriters’ Circle, and the Juno Fan Fair, an event where fans can meet musicians, are back on the calendar the week before the big show.

Canadian music manager Ron Sakamoto will receive the Walt Grearis Lifetime Achievement Award for his lifelong contribution to the country’s music industry.
