Fans of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are happy to concede after a crushing loss to the Toronto Argonauts on Sunday.

The Argonauts beat reigning champions Bombers 24-23 to win the 109th Gray Cup.

Bob Irving, who voiced the Bombers on 680 CJOB for over 50 years, tweeted, “Give credit to Argos. They triumph.”

Irving had previously predicted that the Bombers would bring home a third Cup.

Meanwhile, Winnipeg’s new mayor, Scott Gillingham, congratulated the Bombers on an “outstanding season and a great run”, while Prime Minister Heather Stephenson congratulated the Argos on a “well-fought victory”.

Former Mayor Brian Bowman also congratulated Bombers and Argonauts.

The Bombers tweeted thanking their fans for all their support, and fans thanked them for a great season and expressed their excitement for next year.
