Hashtag Trends Aug 9 – Netflix games are still unpopular. The video game industry is suffering after the pandemic. eBay’s new playback program

Netflix’s games aren’t very popular, the video game industry has slid after the pandemic, and eBay’s newly revamped program is a headache for resellers.

Welcome to hashtag trending. Tuesday, August 9th, this is your host, Samira Bulsara.

To diversify its revenue streams, Netflix launched a series of mobile games for subscribers last year. The roster consists of his 24 games, plus he has 26 games underway. But as a new survey showed, he has less than 1% of subscribers who actually play them. They’ve engulfed his 1.7 million people and been downloaded over 23 million times, but compared to his Netflix subscriber base in 2021, it’s a bucket drop. The company ran into financial trouble in his 2022 and he lost about 1 million subscribers between April and June. This is the largest decline in a quarter. That said, Netflix expects its user base to grow in Q3.

With social distancing all but gone, people are back in the outdoors and staying in touch. This has led to the decline of the video game industry, which was booming during the pandemic. Video game giants such as Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo have all reported their second-quarter financial reports to have fallen sharply from their peak. Americans will spend $12.4 billion on video games in the second quarter of 2022, down 13% year-on-year, according to NDP research. Not only is the loosening of social regulations contributing to its decline, but an ongoing semiconductor shortage is also weighing on the growth of the video game industry.

eBay’s new distinction between “refurbished” and “used” has caused headaches among resellers on the platform. Earlier this year, the e-commerce platform launched a new refurbished product program to better define what products can be considered refurbished. While this sounds like a positive policy for consumers, a report from KnowTechnie claims the program limits the “refurbished” label to only his eBay-approved sellers. . To qualify, sellers must sign a non-disclosure agreement that covers both the reproduction stand and the qualification process. If the seller fails, he will be bound by the NDA. This forces us to sell all items that are not new as “used,” putting us at a disadvantage against eligible competitors.

The FCC has unanimously decided to begin investigating manufacturing in space. According to the notice of the study, the commission wants to develop in-flight satellite refueling, inspection and repair. However, I would like to overcome the big hurdle of space junk before starting research on a space factory. FCC Chairman Jessica Rosenworcel has pointed out that there are thousands of tons of junk in space that threaten the plan. Because they move so fast, even small pieces can cause great damage to your equipment. NASA says even a small object like paint can exert enough force to damage a space shuttle window.
