Pet Dog Missing After Invasion in Northwest Calgary

A large pet dog has gone missing after breaking into a home in northwest Calgary earlier this week, according to Calgary police.

King, a St. Bernard-mastiff mix, was reported missing from his home after a burglary on Monday.

Police were called to the Thorncliffe home on the 100th block of 59th Avenue NW for a report of a break-in believed to have occurred between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday.

During that time, one or more suspects forcibly entered the home, which is believed to have led to King’s disappearance. Police said it was unclear if other items were stolen from the home.

King weighs about 75 pounds and has long brown and red fur.

Police asked anyone with information about the break-in, such as CCTV or dash cam footage, to call the non-emergency number at 403-266-1234.
