Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Fry the apple slices in a buttered skillet over medium-low heat for about 2 minutes on each side. The apples will soften a little, but not fall apart or become too colored. Remove apples from heat and sprinkle with cinnamon. Set aside to cool.

Cut thawed puff pastry into 12 2-inch wide circles. It should be slightly larger than an apple slice. (Proper circle he cuts into squares if he doesn’t have a cutter.)
