Police have already issued a warrant for Talal Amer, 29, found throughout Canada in connection with the death of Angela Mackenzie, 40. She was killed on May 10 during an incident at Forest Lawn, including shootings and irregular driving.
Calgary police said in a new release after investigating CCTV footage, they believed the suspect had been boarded by a person parked near 17th Avenue and 36th Street. SE
They have released two pictures of the vehicle.
“We believe that the citizens may have acted as good Samaritans and provided vehicles to Amel without knowing the tragedy that had just happened,” says Sergeant Sean Gregson of the CPS murder unit. “Based on our interactions with Amer, this individual does not appear to be involved in the case, but may have important information to help us find Amer.”
Police say they want to talk to that individual
In the same news release, investigators also said people believed that the suspect might be deliberately helping the suspect evade police. Individuals who knowingly assist the suspect may be charged as an accessory, Gregson said.
“This is a tragic event and we are dedicated to finding him to bring justice to Angela’s family,” he said.
