Make vegan cheva petit with impossible meat
Nothing beats grilled vegetables, but vegans and vegetarians deserve something Sometimes more substantial than Portobello mushrooms.. If you’re looking for a simple, vegan-friendly dish for the barbecue season, we recommend Cheva Petit, made with your favorite meat substitute.
Ćevapi is an incident on the Balkan Peninsula-Their magic lies in their simplicity, as in many recipes with few sausages and slowly completed over thousands of years. Some recipes are literally just minced meat (beef, pork, lamb, or a combination of them depending on their origin) and salt, but for Cheva Petit, which I personally knew and loved, It also contains a large amount of raw garlic and a small amount of baking soda. It has an elastic and juicy texture. There is There is no casing to mess with. Just crush the ingredients together and mold into sausages, it will take 5 minutes. Put them in the fridge and let them hang out overnight and the grill is ready.
To make about 6 medium-sized Ćevapi (or up to 12 cute Ćevapi), you need:
- 1 12 oz alternative meat package (I like the impossible)
- 3/4 teaspoon table salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3-4 pieces of garlic, grated or finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (optional)
- 1-2 tablespoons of cold water
To make Ćevapi, combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and knead completely with your hands or a soft spatula. Roll the mixture somewhere on 6-12 chubby logs (the one I made is definitely on the larger end) and transfer to a parchment-lined sheet pan. Allow the sausages to cool for at least 3-4 hours, or preferably overnight, without the lid. If you don’t have enough time, put it in the freezer for 1 hour. Shape and dry the surface a little to prevent the Ćevapi from melting on the grill.
When you’re ready to cookHeat the grill (preferably charcoal) or frying pan until very hot. Cook for about 1 to 3 minutes on each side until the sausages are completely charred, or depending on the size of the Ćevapi and the heat source.
If it makes a good sound, put it out immediately.I kept the tradition by picking up lepinja (soft, fluffy round flatbread), ajvar (roasted red pepper spread), onions and sour cream from a local Balkan restaurant, which are as delicious as hot dog bread. Probably mustard and sauerkraut.. No matter how you choose to make your Cheva Petit top, they are sure to be a big hit at any outdoor party this summer.
