Calgary police have arrested a man they say randomly assaulted at least 10 people in the city’s downtown during his commute Tuesday morning.

Shortly after 9am, police tweeted a warning that a man was attacking people indiscriminately.

““Warning the public about a man who randomly assaulted at least 10 people downtown this morning and is currently being searched by police,” the tweet said.

“People who see this person are advised to stay away and call 911.”
The tweet included two photos of a skinny black man wearing a blue jacket with a white collar, dark pants, and a large blue feathered hat.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., police took the suspect into custody after chasing him on 3rd Avenue and 1st Avenue SE.
As of Tuesday afternoon, police said all injuries sustained during the assault were minor.
The attack is the latest in a series of serious and random attacks in the city in recent months, many of them downtown.
