Emma Corrin draws parallels between crown and new role

For her role as Connie (a.k.a. Lady Chatterley) in Lady Chatterley’s loveravailable to stream on Netflix Dec. 3, Colin used his experience playing the late princess in season four. crownColin was able to spot subtle similarities and unique nuances between Connie and Diana.

“It was akin to being trapped in search of some sort of release,” they EXCLUSIVELY told E! News, “But I think Connie is very different in many ways. Naturally, I think all the parts influence the work process and grow with them in some ways.”

Although Colin’s portrayal of Diana was more subdued, the actor was able to capitalize on Connie’s particular journey of sexual exploration in the film based on the 1928 novel of the same name. DH Lawrencethey felt revolutionary.

“I think that’s what women want,” they said. “Perhaps they are unaware of it because of the society they live in, or the society they normally live in. What stood out about DH Lawrence’s book was that it was very unusual. I think it’s because if it was published now, I think it would spark…conversation the same way he talks about sex and the language he uses. Language is ahead of its time.
