Takeoff Dead at 28: Migos record label releases statement condemning senseless violence

Takeoff, one-third of the group Migos, died in a fatal shooting early Tuesday morning in Houston, Texas. Following the death of the 28-year-old artist, the band’s label Quality Control released a statement mourning his death and condemning the violence.
“It is with heartbreak and deep sadness that I mourn the loss of my beloved brother. [Kirshnik] Kali Ball, known to the world as Takeoff,” the statement read. “Senseless violence and stray bullets have taken another life out of this world and we are devastated.”
“Please respect his family and friends as we all continue to deal with this tremendous loss,” the label’s post concludes.
The Houston Police Department confirmed that a shooting took place at 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston around 2:30 a.m. and that “one victim was found dead upon arrival.”
Authorities said two other victims were taken to hospital in private vehicles, but did not disclose the identities of the dead or injured.
according to TMZTakeoff and Quevo, who reportedly were not injured during the incident, were rolling dice when an altercation erupted and someone opened fire, shooting and killing Takeoff.
Takeoff was the youngest member of the Migos. Quavo, whose real name is Quavious Keyate Marshall, was his uncle, and Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was his cousin.
Following the news of his death, posts shared by the rapper’s famous friends and followers were flooded with tributes, tributes and condolences.
