There is concern that data from the Physiology Tracking app may be used as evidence in court after the Roe v. Wade case has been overturned. Experts told SBS News that lack of a menstrual cycle is a common sign of pregnancy and may indicate an abortion if the person is no longer pregnant. This is exacerbated by the fact that some period tracking apps have a history of sharing sensitive data. As a result, the number of people removing these apps from their devices is skyrocketing. In addition, privacy advocacy group EFF advises you to use a secure browser and turn off browsing history, cookies and sensitive location features in all apps.

Google has begun migrating to Chat, a new platform for Hangouts Messenger users. After being deprecated for Workspace users in February, Google Hangouts free individual users are now required to access the new app when they access it. Users accessing Hangouts from Gmail should switch by July, and the desktop version will continue to work until November. Google states that it will notify users one month before the process to ensure they have enough time to prepare. All existing conversations in Hangouts will be transferred to the chat.

Global Wafers in Taiwan will spend $ 5 billion to manufacture silicon wafers in Texas. The company chose the United States as its factory after a failed investment in Europe, according to Reuters. When completed, the plant will be used to manufacture 300mm silicon wafers, providing up to 1,500 jobs in the region. This is good news for US companies looking to procure materials locally. On a larger scale, investment in semiconductors in the United States has worked well for the country’s efforts to secure its supply chain. In recent years, the United States’ share of global semiconductor manufacturing capacity has fallen from its peak of 37% in 1990 to 12%.

As for satellites, there is no fire and I forget about it. The Mars Express spacecraft, launched 19 years ago, will receive new software updates to enhance its capabilities. Craft orbits Mars and sends back high-resolution photographs of the surface of the planet. According to Windows Central, the spacecraft is running on an operating system built on Windows 98. According to the European Space Agency, a software update will allow spacecraft containing MARSIS equipment to see in more detail below the surface of Mars. It also improves signal reception and onboard data processing.
