The recent deprecation of Internet Explorer has caused organizational problems. According to the FT, many Japanese organizations, including government agencies, have been updating to the last minute, but are now struggling to find a solution. A computer engineering consulting firm in Tokyo has asked for a lot of help. In some cases, discontinuing the browser disrupts important business functions such as expense settlement and staff management. Due to the complex interactions between applications, many companies are still looking for ways to move to new technologies.

Netflix reduced another 300 employees in preparing its second-quarter report. This new cost-cutting round follows the mass dismissal in May, when 150 employees lost their jobs. A Netflix spokesperson told online publishing Deadline that the company has made these adjustments to increase costs as revenue growth slows. Staff reductions seem to be primarily focused on the United States, but they also affect teams in Asia, Europe and Africa. The company is in a financial crisis as it misses forecast revenues for the previous quarter and announces a decline in global subscriber numbers.

Mercedes-Benz has developed a concept car that runs 747 miles on a single charge. A concept car called Vision EQXX ran from Stuttgart, Germany to Silverstone, England. The entire itinerary took 14.5 hours. Even more impressive is that Mercedes said the air conditioner has been running for eight hours. This is usually an energy consuming system. To achieve this, Mercedes reduced the weight of the vehicle as much as possible and optimized its design for aerodynamics. The car also has a 100kWh battery, which is much more compact than the company’s current solution. Unfortunately, Mercedes has no plans to sell Vision EQ XX. Currently used as a research tool for developing new technologies.

Camero-Tech, the company behind the Xavier 1000, said it was an essential system not only for the military and law enforcement agencies, but also for search and rescue teams. The company also states that it has penetrated most building materials without problems.
