A new cafe in Mount Pleasant? How novel.

Or should I say ‘novella’ (duh-dum-ch), a new spot opening at 2650 Main Street later this month.

A new addition to the team nearby is none other than the Boxset Collective. With the same crew behind both Bar Susu and the recently Michelin-starred Main publication, it’s fair to say that expectations are high. Well worth a visit once Novella opens to the public.

Boxset Collective co-founder Cody Allmin said in the release:

“When we first thought of Novella, we asked ourselves what kind of neighborhood cafe we would like to spend time in. Definitely one of good food and a great space. Coffee, and that’s why we partnered with our talented friends at the House of Funk Roasting.”

The Mount Pleasant spot will offer a mid-day menu, curated selection of local produce and, as Allmin mentioned, a full coffee program run by House of Funk. A small batch roastery across the cove in North Vancouver.

“Consistency and quality coffee are the foundation of any great café,” said Ann Hnatyshyn, head coffee roaster at House of Funk Roastery Co., in a release.

“To run a world-class coffee program, we have assembled a team passionate about coffee, equipped our café with the best equipment, and selected the highest quality beans from around the world.”

Although the official release date has not yet been confirmed, teeth Opening later this month, Novella’s 66-seat, 3,200-square-foot space is available for check-out Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
