California has become the first US state to protect children from being profiled in a harmful way using their data. According to TechXplore, new legislation introduced in the state will require companies to protect the well-being of children by implementing age-appropriate design codes, and will require data protection before issuing new services aimed at children. must submit an impact assessment. Google accidentally transferred $250,000 to a blogger due to a “human error”. The blunder was discovered when the blogger tweeted that Google had randomly transferred his $250,000 to his account. The unintended recipient kept the money safe and waited for a response from the company Google almost sent him a month later. When asked, Google wouldn’t tell NPR how the error came about, only saying it planned to get the money back.The security blogger, who is also an engineer of his, said his job and his said he didn’t believe there was any connection with Google, saying it was a complete fluke.

Canadian law enforcement raided an apparently prolific hacker and seized his assets. It said it seized equipment such as PCs, phones and servers. Additionally, he was evicted and is now homeless. Cottle has amassed a following on his TikTok and shared some of his hacking activity. He claimed responsibility for several data breaches, including one from the Christian crowdfunding site GiveSendGo.

The video game industry experienced a major cybersecurity incident when hackers leaked early information about GTA 6. Some thought it was the largest data breach in industry history. The leaked details include not only gameplay, but also the heavily protected source code of the game. According to the leaker, the game’s developer, Rockstar Games, reached out to them on social media. Suspicious hackers say they are trying to negotiate a deal.
