Everything we know about Nothing’s “Phone 1”
After months of producing hype, nothing Introduced Phone 1, the first smartphone and the second product..The idea is to deviate from what other smartphone makers are making and develop smartphones that do exactly what people want (and). none They don’t).
Tuesday’s presentation was certainly not unconventional. After the first audio glitch, he was introduced to Nothing’s founder (and OnePlus co-founder) Carl Pei. The entire presentation was given in three locations (two indoors and one outdoors). All with an informal approach. It turned out to be very intentional, as Pay later revealed that the keynote was shot entirely on Phone 1.
Glyphs are probably the most interesting feature of Phone 1
The phone is visually unique and of course the highlights are behind it. There is no such thing as a “glyph” that uses a string of lights to trace internal components. These lights are active in a variety of situations. There is a light pattern for each ringtone created. To NothingOS; For wireless charging or reverse wireless charging, the light ring around the wireless charging pad will light up. The “progress” bar lights up during wired charging. The glyph lights up to act as a kind of backlight when shooting video. Thanks to the small red LED on the back that flashes when you record the video. This is a feature that camcorders didn’t have at the time.
On phone 1 2 cameras
I’m not bragging about the phone 1 camera, but as evidence I was completely dependent on the video quality of the keynote. The company did Issue a press release On July 8th, we discussed a camera containing a series of photos taken by members of the Nothing team. The photo looks solid, but until the reviewer tests the phone, it’s not clear how the photo will truly overlap with the competitors.

This little guy boasts a “neat row”, is good at removing pet hair, and uses a multi-surface brush to automatically adjust to different floor types.
Phone 1 has two cameras on the back (one ultra-wide, one main), one or two less than most flagships on the market today. Both cameras are 50MP. The Ultra Wide (Samsung JN1 sensor) has a field of view of 114 degrees, but the main (Sony IMX766 sensor) supports what is called “extreme night mode”. There is also support for 4K video at 30 fps and night mode video at 108 op 30 fps. The front camera supports 1080p video at 16MP, which is amazing. 4K video is common in today’s flagship selfie cameras.
TPhone 1 display was the main focus
The other small visual difference between Phone 1 and other smartphones lies in the bezel. End-to-end displays are common these days, but no phone has the same thin bezel on all four sides of the display. As Pei explained, most Android makers need to keep the “chin” of the phone a little larger than the other sides to accommodate the cables under the OLED display. However, no one here uses a “flexible” OLED display, which the company claims costs twice as much as a traditional screen to achieve this subtle look.
The display is a 6.55-inch OLED that supports 10-bit HDR10 +. The resolution is 402ppi and 2400×1080, with normal brightness of 500 nits and peaks of 1,200 nits. It has a refresh rate of 120Hz for the smooth scrolling you’d expect from a smartphone, but can adapt up to 60Hz to save battery life. Comes with 3 different memory and storage options. 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage. 12GB RAM with 256GB of storage.
I don’t know the performance of phone 1
Performance is one of the interesting areas: TPhone 1 intentionally does not use state-of-the-art processors. Instead, run Snapdragon 778G +. It doesn’t claim to have a good balance between performance and battery life. Speaking of which, Phone 1 has a 4500 mAh battery that can charge 33W wired in 70 minutes and 15W wirelessly in 120 minutes. Nothing is said about battery life.
It’s a small note, but the device has an IP53 rating for dust and water resistance, which is very poor. Based on this evaluationWill not submerge or spill.
Also, none of Phone1 offers 3 years of software support and 4 years of security support.
Nothing brings Phone 1 to U.S.
It’s a shame for us in the United States.S.— Including myself — Phone 1 has not come to our area.It is available at Various other places All over the world. However, like other phones that are not sold in the United States.S., If you can get it, it will work. Check if a viable retailer to ship to the US is open.S.
The prices for Phone 1 in the UK are:
- £ 399: 8 GB RAM / 128 GB storage
- £ 449: 8 GB RAM / 256 GB storage
- £ 499: 12 GB RAM / 256 GB storage
Again, much of this information isn’t really there New arrival.. It’s a cut-out of the usual pomp and circumstance that most manufacturers have incorporated into their presentations, but at the same time, it didn’t really show much. On Phone 1, it’s more important than ever to see how the device works in the eyes of reviewers before knowing if it’s worth the hype.
