Cybersecurity webinar for all Canadian federal civil servants

Canadian federal government employees are encouraged to attend a bilingual cybersecurity webinar next month.

The session coincides with Cybersecurity Awareness Month each October and is called “Cyber ​​Safety: Your Behavior Matters.” It will take place on October 17th from 10:45 am to 2:45 pm.

Presented by the Commonwealth of Canada School of Public Service, it features senior leaders and top cybersecurity experts who share insights on current and emerging threats and demonstrate best practices for behavior.

This will include a panel discussion with Po Tea-Duncan, Executive Director of Cybersecurity at the Federal Office of the Treasury, and Alan McCafferty, Director of the Cybersecurity Program at the University of Ottawa.

There will also be breakout learning sessions and interactive activities that attendees can use to not only receive practical advice, but also recognize potential threats, vulnerabilities and other dangerous cyber behaviors. You can learn strategy.

One of the breakout sessions will be on protecting digital privacy, including advice on digital identity, digital profiling, how to track individuals on the Internet, and how individuals can minimize their online footprint. It will be led by Jonathan Joint, Cybersecurity Instructor at the Federal Cyber ​​Center Learning Hub.

Another session is about building a strong cyber incident management process.guided by Wissam Moussa and Cheyenne Arrowsmith of Canadian Digital Service show that building a strong incident management process plays a key role in security, accountability, and recovery.
