Wynonna Judd reveals how she plans to honor her late mother Naomi while on vacation

Wynonna Judd shared the special ways she plans to keep the spirit of her late mother, Naomi Judd, alive during the headless family’s first holiday season.

while talking to yes!news On Wednesday’s red carpet at the 2022 CMA Awards, the 58-year-old singer revealed that Naomi, who died by suicide in late April, will be remembered through a home-cooked meal.

“I’m the head of the household now, so I have Naomi Judd’s cookbook,” she said.

Wynonna, who formed country duo The Judds with her mother, continued to share one of the traditions Naomi instilled in her and sister Ashley Judd, 54.

“She took us out into the woods and let us sit in the cold and read her Christmas stories about Jesus,” she said. “We were complaining that we had to go to the bathroom because we had so many clothes on.”

“I miss her,” Wynonna continued, noting that she used to complain, “I will miss those times.”

“So I’m going to do it to my grandchildren,” she added.

Elsewhere during the interview, Wynonna commented on the bittersweet feeling of attending awards ceremonies without her mother. However, “I still suffer because I miss her.”
