A woman has been seriously injured after being pushed off her bike by someone claiming to be a police officer on a popular North Shore trail.

The woman was biking down the Spirit Trail around 2:40 pm on July 10 when she approached a man walking the trail with his family, according to the North Vancouver RCMP.

The man then claimed to be an off-duty police officer and asked people in the area, including passers-by, to stop her.
“The passerby acted in good faith and followed the instructions of what appeared to be a police officer to push the woman on the bike,” Konst said. Mansur Sahak.
The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
