Uniswap To Raise $200 Million New Capital At $1 Billion Valuation – Defi Bitcoin News

Uniswap, the largest decentralized exchange (dex) platform by global trading volume, is looking to raise between $100 million and $200 million, according to a report citing people familiar with the company. The funding round is currently in its early stages as the report claims Uniswap is “involved with a number of investors.”

Sources say Uniswap is eyeing new funding from investors like Polychain

Uniswap is eyeing fresh capital from investors, according to four unnamed sources familiar with the matter. The news stems from a report published by Tech Crunch reporter Manish Singh, citing sources familiar with his Uniswap commerce. According to Singh, the decentralized exchange (dex) startup is “involved with a number of investors,” one of which he claims is Polychain Capital.

Uniswap is seeking about $100 million to $200 million in new capital and could print a post-mortem valuation of about $1 billion. To date, Uniswap has raised approximately $12.8 billion from investors. Following his $1.8 million seed round in April 2019, the Uniswap team has raised another $11 million in Series A led by his Andreessen Horowitz (a16z).

The $11 million injected into Uniswap also came from other venture capital firms such as Paraphy Capital, Paradigm and Union Square Ventures. The funding news follows the establishment of the Uniswap Foundation, which has revealed plans to distribute his $1.8 million grant to 14 different recipients.

According to Defillama.com statistics, Uniswap is the fifth largest decentralized finance (defi) protocol in terms of Total Value Locked (TVL). His TVL on Uniswap on Sept. 30, 2022 is around $5.3 billion, up 3.75% over the past seven days. Additionally, Defillama.com metrics show that dex accounts for nearly 64% of all dex volumes worldwide.

Uniswap version 3 (V3) printed $834,376,434 in 24-hour trading volume, while Uniswap V2 printed about $41.71 million. Also available are Uniswap Polygon ($97.43M), Uniswap Arbitrum ($47.64M) and Uniswap Optimism ($51.44M). At the end of June, Uniswap announced the acquisition of non-fungible token (NFT) aggregator Genie and recently revealed its integration with NFT marketplace Sudoswap.
