58 years ago, the legend Jim Ryan Became the first high school athlete to run less than 4 minutes. Since then, 15 other high school athletes have fallen into the less than 4 o’clock category, setting a record three for the past year. Last night’s event was particularly spectacular.
Men’s Mile was the first time two high school athletes ran less than 4 o’clock in the same race. Earlier this year, Martin made a notorious shot at 3:57:98 when he ran the fastest high school mile since Lun. He beat that time yesterday and went to work at 3:57:89. Burns came behind him at 3: 58.83. This is a very personal best from 4: 02.26 before him.
Fans were amazed at the race as Burns broke further records and became the first third-year high school student to run less than four o’clock miles since Lun.
