Tributes pour in as rapper Hurricane G dies at 52

American rapper Hurricane G, real name Gloria Rodriguez, has died at the age of 52.

EPMD’s Eric Salmon confirmed the Puerto Rican musician died Sunday.

Selmon, who shares daughter Lexus with Rodriguez, wrote: one of my best friends… My eldest daughter’s mother passed away today #HURRICANEGLORIA was also a legend in the hip hop community.

“One of the first Puerto Rican female rappers, she rapped with me @redmangilla She paved the way @keithmurray @diddy She was in every Hiphop magazine and was one of the top with women.

“She will be missed all over the world. Incredible. Please pray for us. Beautiful blessings. She was a beautiful person and an amazing mother. We love u G🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️” The sermon ended.

Rodríguez has a career spanning over 30 years and has worked with stars like Diddy and Redman.

A cause of death has yet to be confirmed, but daughter Lexus previously revealed that her mother was battling lung cancer.

She wrote, according to Yahoo!: “My mom has stage 4 lung cancer. is.

“I’ve never cried so much in my life. Never in my life have I felt so disconnected from reality.”
