Simu Liu Surprises America with Donation Worth $100,000 at BoxLunch Gala

Simu Liu donates generously to keep Americans from going hungry.

The star attended the Box Lunch Gala honoring Feeding America at the City Market Social House in Los Angeles on Wednesday as a presenter. I gave it to Marsh, but surprised the audience with his own donation.

Liu jokingly thought BoxLunch was a sandwich shop at first, but realized it supported a retail story to give back to the local community.

“BoxLunch impacts people across the country with each retailer giving to their communities and contributing to Feeding America’s national efforts,” he shared. “Now I’m happy to be a part of it. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to help make a difference as a new Giving Ambassador, so I doubled my Boxlunch donation to $200,000. I was thrilled and honored to be able to do it.”
