Palazzo Versace Dubai, a luxury resort in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), now accepts Bitcoin and some cryptocurrencies as payment for its services, according to a press release.
The resort has partnered with Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, to allow customers to pay with Bitcoin. Starting September 7, customers can now use Bitcoin to pay for their stays, restaurants, meetings, events and spa experiences. All guests can now pay at their accommodation using the Binance app.
Palazzo Versace Managing Director Monter Darwish said in a press release: “Accepting cryptocurrencies as payment is a revolutionary step we have taken to future-proof our business.”
The next phase of the launch will see the resort working on online payment integration, which is expected “soon.” After the integration, Palazzo will accept new payment methods through its e-commerce platform, and customers will also be able to purchase gift cards and browse florists.
Palazzo is accepting bitcoin as financial institutions such as FTX Exchange and Komainu enter Dubai, making the region a hub for digital innovation.
