Outdoor Oasis-Home Trend Magazine

The North Vancouver family had already planned to renovate the outdoor space, but with the advent of COVID-19, there was no further movement.

As a young active family who loves to entertain, this reconceived space not only improved the overall look and function, but also brought a lot of joy while keeping things safe.

Two warm and cozy “wings” of the covered outdoor living space extend from the back of the house, leaving ample grass space for children to play.

One wing acts as an outdoor fitness and hot tub pad, while the main wing serves as a comprehensive entertainment or family living space with a spacious outdoor living, dining and kitchen area.

The deck has been replaced by a less maintenance Trex composite deck, and the main area has been placed flush with the backyard landscape.

Environmentally friendly, naturally resistant to insects and rot, the feel of a warm, natural environment is further enhanced with details on the eaves, stanchions and beams of the cedar.
