OCSTA Approves Central Agreement with OECTA

The Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association (OCSTA) is delighted to announce the formal ratification of the Central Terms for a new collective agreement with the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA).

This agreement, effective until August 31, 2026, comes after an extensive negotiation process spanning 19 months. OCSTA President, Patrick Daly, expressed satisfaction with the outcome, emphasizing its role in ensuring stability and fairness for all stakeholders involved, including students, families, dedicated teachers across Ontario’s Catholic schools, and the represented Catholic School Boards.

Mr. Daly extended gratitude to the bargaining teams from OECTA, the Crown, and OCSTA for their unwavering commitment and diligence throughout the intricate negotiation process.

Established in 1930, the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association serves as the provincial advocate for publicly funded Catholic education. Representing Catholic school boards that collectively educate around 570,000 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 in Ontario, OCSTA strives to uphold the interests of Catholic education stakeholders.
