Nick Lachey faces backlash after seemingly throwing shade at marriage to Jessica Simpson

Nick Lachey appeared to dig ex-wife Jessica Simpson in the ‘Love Is Blind’ Season 3 reunion show.

Lachey and Simpson were married from 2002 to 2006, and their relationship famously played out on MTV’s Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, which ran from August 2003 to March 2005.

Lachey, who married Vanessa Lachey in 2011, quipped at a class reunion this week that “marriage is always better the second time.”

The comments were made while Lacy was chatting with contestant Matt Bolton about his previous marriage.

Bolton replied, “Cheers, bud.”

The Lacheys have three children together — Camden, 10, Brooklyn, 7, and Phoenix, 5 — while Simpson married Eric Johnson in 2014. Maxwell Drew is 10 years old, Ace Knut is 9 years old, and Birdie May is 3 years old.

Later, after “Love is Blind” contestant Cole Burnett expressed regret about appearing on the show, Lachey appeared to reference his and The Simpson’s reality show during the reunion.

“Coming from someone who did reality TV,” Lachey shared.
