MADD Canada and its state sponsor Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation (NLC) will mark the program’s state school tour with a special screening of nearly 700 students at Holy Trinity High School on Monday. Road traffic accidents are the leading cause of death among young people in Canada, with more than half of them involving alcohol and drugs.Each year, with the help of sponsors such as the NLC, MADD Canada launches new school program Educate students in grades 7-12 about the risks of driving impairment. Along the lines of realistic and poignant fictional stories, students will explore the personal stories of real-life victims of driving disorders.
MADD Canadian school programFollowing the presentation, which will be presented to hundreds of thousands of students across the country, schools will receive an Educator’s Guide to help teachers keep calm driving conversations going all year long.
