Letter from a reader: Thanks to the city for fixing a dangerous intersection

I would like to thank the City of Windsor for accommodating my request to modify the safety aspect of the corner of the State Road and 6th Concession near the Windsor Essex County Humane Society.

At a town meeting at Roseland Church a few years ago, I shared my concerns with the area councilors.

I understand the city needed time to plan and hire a company, but it looks like construction is starting around the corner.

Over the years, I’ve often seen cars heading east realize that they need to make a right turn at that corner, and then turn left into another lane to make a right turn at the last second.

It was terrifying to see a car narrowly miss a crash in the chaos.

I feel that fixing the intersection so that I could turn right while staying in the right lane could have saved my life.
