Lakeshore fire on Route 42

Investigators continued working late Thursday afternoon to determine the cause of the barn fire that caused more than $800,000 in damage.

Lakeshore Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Pooleyblank said the fire started at 1641 County Route 42 in a large barn that housed a woodworking shop. I was not injured.

“When we arrived, the fire went through the roof,” Pulleyblank said.

After returning home, the owner called 911 around 11:40 am and saw flames erupting from the top of the barn.

Lakeshore Fire Department 1, 3 and 4 responded. Some crew members were on site until late Thursday afternoon.

According to Pulleyblank, owners estimate damages in the range of $800,000 to $1 million.
