Jakob Ingebrigtsen wants to run a marathon

Olympic 1,500m champions Norway’s Jacob Ingebrigtsen expressed interest in seeing what the marathon could do in the next three to five years.

Ingebrigtsen, a British running legend, told an interviewer Steve Crumb He wants to run a fast marathon. Immediately Krum laughed and said,

“I love sports and running,” Ingebrigtsen replied. “Seeing people running well in marathons made me think about what I can do. Marathon training doesn’t seem fun, but you have to try.”

Earlier this summer, Ingebrigtsen spoke about: doing triple (1,500m, 5,000m, 10,000m) 2023 World Championships and 2024 Olympics. When this question was raised, Ingebrigtsen said that he always thinks and plans three to four years ahead.

The 21-year-old declined to give an exact time or plans for future races, but said he is now enjoying the 1,500 meters. “One of the things I love about the 1,500m is that the race is only three and a half minutes long.”

Ingebrigtsen is looking to win his first Diamond League title in the men’s 1,500m on Thursday afternoon. He finished second to Kenya last year. Timothy Cheruiyot.
