Irish McColgan continue record-breaking season in Glasgow

McColgan was due to run in the 2022 London Marathon, but has delayed his marathon debut until 2023. refueling concernsInstead, she raced in front of a Scottish crowd to cap off a memorable year of British records in the 5K, 10K and half marathon. Commonwealth 10,000m gold and several European Championship medals.

It was the third time McColgan broke the British 10K record in 2022. She started the season with her 30:23 in her London 10,000 at Vitality and improved that mark to her 30:19 in her Great Manchester run in late May.

McColgan said on her instagram page Her run was “probably a European record, but a bit confused with what is endorsed”.

The 31-year-old long-distance runner is taking some time off before making her marathon debut at the 2023 London Marathon next May.
